Color Theory and Emotional Effects - Steve Teller

1. Describe Color and it's effects on emotions. Use the appropriate vocabulary of color in your posting.
Color at it's most basic form, is a function of light. Different colors cause reactions to emotions. Oddly in the first video we watched, a painter put together a collection of RED paintings in hops that the patrons of the "Four Seaseons" restaraunt in NY the paintings were shipping to, wouldn't eat and feel trapped. Oddly, our text declares that Red's are believed to increase appetite and food consumption. I found this most perplexing.

2. What is a theoretical aspect of color that most intrigues/fascinates you? Why?
I think this is related to the first question. How colors can influence emotinos such as aggravation, happiness, a thought for foods etc.

3. In the Color video, what made the biggest impact on you in regards to color and it's effects on emotions? Honestly, it was the finished product that made the biggest impact, it was actually the artist herself. Her frustration of not being able to graphicly re-represent her minds eye of Venice. She was mad and threw paint thinnner on the canvas.

4. In the Feelings video, what made the biggest impact on you in regards to color and it's effects on emotions? In this video I was surprised to learn that David (spelling) had thought that the all white marble statues brought out eroticism in himslef.
